My 1st Born is 20!!

Pictured Left to Right (my baby, my middle child, and my 1st born James with his girlfriend). It is hard to believe that 20 years ago today, I gave birth to James. It was during the 1st Gulf War and Kerry was in Kuwait. I was surrounded by my mom, Kerry's mom, my Aunt's Maureen and Phoebe....and various cousins and other family members. It was unusual during those days to have anyone in the delivery room because in 1991 most hospitals didn't have the fancy labor, delivery, and recovery rooms. It was an unusual night. I was the only one in labor the night of March 8th and I think the whole hospital knew our story. I had every nurse at my side taking care of me from the maternity ward and when it came time for James to show his bald little head (at 7:19 am on the 9th of March) the nurses and doctor allowed several of my family members to be in the "delivery room" (against hospital policy).

I am so proud that he has grown into such a fine young man I can't believe he is already 20

Something New

Ok, I am really too busy for this...but maybe with some inspiration from my friend Kaaren I can find some time to journal. I remember in 7th grade, I had the most amazing English teacher. She never wore the same outfit twice and was always dressed to the "T". She made us journal EVERY day and it seemed so tedious and boring because every day it seemed the only thing to mention in 7th grade was the weather and how mean my older brother was.

A few times since then, I have written a journal, although I am not sure where they are. Once, when Joel was 5 weeks old and we spent a week in Scottish Rite Hospital. I was completely bored out of my mind and felt like a milk machine... ;0)

Another was a few years ago when I was keeping a prayer journal. I think Jacob had recently been diagnosed with Aspergers, my uncle was sick, my cousin and my brother were going through marital troubles and I was trying to figure it all out.

So, I may not be as active as Kaaren, but maybe I can jot a note here and there.
